Founder and Lead Coach, Coach Jess played professionally under various coaches, in half a dozen countries around the world, helping her to develop a unique perspective on the game. Upon returning the the US she founded JD7 to teach other athletes what she has learned during her professional career. Through JD7’s extensive Coach training program, our coaches learn to empower young athletes to develop the confidence to succeed in basketball and beyond. Our qualified local coaches are available for private and semi-private boys and girls youth basketball training sessions and group training sessions like JD7 Basketball Skills Sessions and JD7 Basketball Academies – a camp alternative and Select7 – a Youth Instructional Basketball League.

Jessica Duleba | JD7 Founder | Lead Coach
After a tremendous college career in New York City, Coach Jess played professionally overseas for 6 years in Spain, France, and Poland, while also working towards a coaching certification under the French Coaching Federation (FFBB). These experiences helped her to develop a unique perspective on coaching this game, which she brought with her when she returned to the US. She founded JD7 to teach other athletes what she has learned during her professional career. Coach Jess, Founder and Lead Coach at JD7 is also a Women’s Program Assistant Coach at Oakland Community College. Prior, she spent 3 years at Lakeland High School in White Lake as an Assistant Girls Varsity Coach and Head Junior Varsity Girls Coach.

Coach Cope
Alyssa Copely-Steinfort | Local Coach
Coach Cope started playing basketball when she was 7 years old. She had an outstanding high school career, 1000 points club along with league and district championships. She went to Cleveland State University (Division 1) to begin her college career and decided to move back to Michigan and attend Rochester University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. There, her and her team brought home a National Championship, where she was awarded MVP for the tournament.
Coach Cope’s coaching career started in High School when she assisted with the 8th grade girls at Holly Middle School. During College she coached at Lake Norcentra Basketball Camp in Rochester Hills where she coached all age groups. Following her college playing days, she was part of the Rochester High School Girls’ Basketball coaching staff for 3 years. She began coaching and training for JD7 Programs & Athletes in early 2023.

Coach Jill
Jillian Pierson | Local Coach
Coach Jill was a two sport athlete in High School, playing both basketball & soccer from 2007-2011 at Lakeland High School. During basketball season, she was a Varsity starter Junior and Senior year, and made Captain her Senior year. She was a Varsity soccer player as a Freshman and started all 4 years, along with being a Captain her Junior and Senior. Although scouted to play soccer in college, an injury unfortunately ended her professional athletic pursuits.
In 2019, her children’s love of sports revitalized her athletic passions and she began coaching basketball, soccer and baseball for all youth ages when they started competing in sports. Coach Jill joined the JD7 Coaching Staff in early 2023 during our inaugural Select 7 Boys Season.

Coach Colleen
Colleen | Guest Coach
Coach Colleen started playing basketball at 5 years old. She went to Bishop Foley Catholic High School, where she was a 4-year Varsity Basketball Player, while also playing volleyball and softball. She earned many awards in all 3 sports noted below. She also played AAU Basketball for Legion Select.
She continued her academic and athletic career attending and playing basketball at Concordia University – Ann Arbor, graduating in 2016 with dual bachelor degrees in Biology and Exercise Science. While there, she also played for Legion (now 1829) and spent 7 years coaching travel ball. After graduating, she continued coaching and is now the Head Coach for Varsity Girls Basketball and Volleyball at Bishop Foley (BFC). In the 5 years that she has been at BFC, for Girls Basketball alone, they have won 4 District Titles, 3 Regional Titles, and have made two Final Four appearances. She joined JD7 for their inaugural Winter Academy in 2022, our Boys Select 7 Season in 2023 and works in other JD7 Programs when she has availability.

Coach Abby
Abby Weiss | Guest Coach
Coach Abbyhas been a part of the JD7 Coaching Staff since Summer of 2023. A Brooklyn New York native, she visits Michigan throughout the year to work with athletes. She is a former Division 1 Guard who currently serves as the Director of NIL Marketing/Compliance at her Alma Mater, Coppin State University, located in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a two sport Division 1 athlete competing in both basketball and cross-country, as well as a full time Sports Information Director (SID) Intern and COSIDA member during her years of playing.
After graduating in 2021, she got an immediate position as an Assistant SID and Director of Compliance, while also working in Sports Performance as the Lead Strength Coach for Men’s and Women’s Tennis.
Outside of her roles within Sports Administration, she is a full time statistician for the Delaware Bluecoats G-League Team. She played a season of Semi-Pro Basketball for the Maryland Jewels and now works with athletes under the realm of Sports Performance and Player Development.
